Lagos Town (WR), July 23, GNA – The Mount Olivet Methodist Church has engaged the parliamentary candidates within the Effia Kwesimintim Municipal (EKMA) area on their visions and missions for the people of the Municipality.

The engagement was to help the church members and the electorate in the municipality in which the church was situated to better understand the development policies of all the candidates and make informed decisions on voting come December 7, 2024.

Reverend Seth Amoah, the Minister in Charge of the Mount Olivet branch of the Methodist Church of Ghana, at the opening of the programme, said the church was an integral part of society and as such must have avenues to engage political leadership from time to time on their policies for the people.

The Parliamentary Candidates’ Project formed part of the golden jubilee celebration of the Mountain Olivet Methodist Church.

Mr Fiifi Buckman, a lawyer, represented the NDC for Kwesimintsim while Mr Prince Armah attended on the ticket of the NPP.

Mr Abdul Majeed Iddrisu Nassah, NDC Parliamentary Candidate of Effia Constituency and Lawyer Issac Boamah Nyarko, NPP Parliamentary Candidate of Effia Constituency were also in attendance.

The candidates took turns sharing their vision of education and social welfare with the teeming crowd that gathered at the church auditorium.

Some electorates the GNA spoke with were impressed by the projections of the various Candidates and prayed that they would deliver on their promises when given the nod.

Other equally important events on the 50th anniversary calendar of the church include a durbar, memorial service, a radio quiz programme, a candlelight procession and a thanksgiving service to climax the celebration on August 11, 2024.
