Namibia arrives in Accra to begin pre-AFCON camping

Accra, Dec.29, GNA – The Namibian National team on Thursday 28th December,2023 arrived in Accra to begin preparations ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The team, made up of 31 delegates received a warm welcome at the Kotoka International Airport.

The Brave Warriors would engage two Ghanaian local clubs in a friendly encounter before taking on one African giant to round up their preparations.

Collin Benjamin, Head Coach of the side speaking in an interview with the media said his men were ready to make history in the tournament.

“We were here in 2008 and we did well so it was important to for us to come here because of the conditions we will be facing,” he said.

The Brave Warriors are camped in Group E with Tunisia, Mali and South Africa as they are hopeful of making it out of the group stage for the first time.

The 2023 AFCON is scheduled for January 13,2024 to February 11,2024 in Ivory Coast.
