Accra, Dec 29, GNA – Ghanaian singer Black Sherif proved his mastery of stagecraft with an epic performance at this year’s AfroFuture Festival at the El-Wak Sports Stadium on Thursday night.
The presence of the charismatic artiste, one of the headliners for the two-day concert, ignited a collective roar from the audience.
The audience, a diverse tapestry of cultures and backgrounds, largely diasporans, united in the shared experience and were swept away by the pulsating rhythms and soul-stirring performance from Blacko, as he is affectionately known.
Adorned in a black protective biker outfit, with baggy jeans and red and white stripes on the lateral side of the thigh, Black Sheriff delivered an epic performance for an hour.
Black Sherif’s “Soja” global hit song set the scene for an electrifying performance that would resonate through the night.
A choir in black robes sang Soja on a live band, ushering one of Ghana’s biggest music exports to the AfroFuture stage.
He performed songs like “45,” “YAYA,” “Wasteman,” among others, all of which got the crowd swaying and dancing excitedly throughout his performance.
Black Sherif said he felt humbled and excited to be on the big stage with such a crowd to watch him perform, emphasising that it was the reverse, as he mostly attended such concerts to watch others.
As Black’s performance reached its zenith, the night sky became a canvas for a spectacular display of fireworks, symbolising Blacko’s extraordinary musical journey and performance at the festival.
Blacko ended his performance with Nigeria’s Odumodublvck joining him to sing their collaborative song, “Wotowoto Seasoning.”
Odumodublvck had earlier delivered an outstanding performance. Preceding his Black Sherif’s delivery was Crayon, who took patrons on an awe-inspiring journey with his thrilling performance.
Samini, as accustomed with his pure energy and vibe, put up an unforgettable delivery, leaving the audience asking for more.
Songstress Efya, spotted in a beautiful all-red outfit with thighs on display, began the show on live set with a performance that was nothing short of thrilling.
