Ghana Police deploys hundreds of personnel at NDC Delegates Congress

Accra, Dec. 17, GNA – The Police has deployed hundreds of personnel at various points of the Accra Sports Stadium to maintain law and order as the National Democratic Congress holds its National Delegates Congress to elect national executives for the party.

Barricades have been mounted on the roads from Ministries towards Osu, and around the Stadium to regulate vehicular movements.

The police personnel are carrying out rigid security checks, including the use of metal detectors before one is allowed entry, and they enforcing strict compliance to a “no accreditation, no entry policy.”

Some Party members who are not delegates have been denied entry to the Congress grounds. The members said they thought they could use their Party ID cards to secure entry

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service and Ghana Ambulance Service have also been stationed at the election grounds to assist with emergencies.
