Sunyani, Dec. 1, GNA – Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene, the Bono Regional Minister, has donated 100 bags of cement to support concrete works to re-shape and make the Sunyani Central Market attractive for trading activities.

The leadership of the Market Women Association appealed for the assistance to cement and rid the market of dust and mud during the dry and rainy seasons.

Mad. Owusu-Banahene expressed appreciation to the market women for their cooperation despite the economic challenges and asked them to maintain their trust and confidence in the government as President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo worked hard to stabilise the economy.

She said though the current economic challenges seemed insurmountable, the government was working assiduously to alleviate the plight of the people and improve the socio-economic livelihoods of Ghanaians.

Nana Aboaa Boahemaa, the President of the Sunyani Market Women Association, thanked the Regional Minister for the gesture, saying the market women and traders were ever ready to support any initiative that would help transform the local economy and better the lives of the people.

She said the current situation at the market was not the best, saying the cement would help quality concrete work to be done to make the market a pleasing location to enhance buying and selling.
