Accra, Dec.6 GNA- The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the 2022/23 betPawa Premier League will resume on Monday, December 19, 2022.
The league was suspended to make way for the ongoing FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar, as the Black Stars of Ghana made their fourth appearance at the tournament.
A statement from the GFA said “The 2022/23 betPawa Premier League season would resume on Monday, December 19 to Thursday 22,2022 across League centers”.
The World Cup would end on December 18, 2022, hence the decision of the GFA to start the league a day after the finals.
Ahead of matchday nine, the likes of Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak have all began training awaiting the resumption of the league.
After eight weeks of action, Aduana Stars maintained the top spot with 16 points to their credit as Accra Lions and defending champions Asante Kotoko were on the second and third positions respectively.
The 2022/23 league season would wrap up on the weekend of June 9-12,2023.
