Thirty-one candidates to contest in Western North NDC Regional polls

Sefwi -Wiawso, (W/N), Nov 10 GNA-A total of 31 candidates are poised to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regional polls in the Western North Region.  

About 337 delegates from the nine constituencies are to elect new regional executives on November 12, at Sefwi -Bodi in the Western North.   

The incumbent Regional Chairman, Mr Michael Aidoo is facing a stiff contest from the former Vice-chairman for Western Region, Mr Jerry Kwabena Kankam for the chairmanship slot, while Mr Henry Rokefeller, Mr David Koah and Mr Ernest Darko are candidates for the Vice chairmanship position.  

The incumbent Secretary, Mr George Ofori Danquah is being contested by Mr Jacob Oware, former MCE, Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai and Mr Stephen Donkor, 2020 NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai.  

For the Youth Organiser position, the incumbent Lanim Abdulai would contest Mr Frederick Asante and Mr Prince Ofori Nkrumah, while Mr Hayford Panin and Jesse Yaw Aidoo would contest for the deputy youth organiser slot.  

Mr Robert Kofi Agyekum and Peter Nkuah Sumaili are contesting for the Organiser position, while Mr Dominic Ntere and Rafus Abdalla Dadzie are vying for the deputy organizer position.   

The current communication officer, Mr Jerome Sam would be contested by Mr Clement Ohene Asare who contested his last four years, and Yaw Hedidor and Kelvin Eshun are going for the deputy communication officer slot.  

Mrs Comfort Nyarko and Mrs Elizabeth Nsabaan are vying for the Women Organiser slot, while Mr Sarpong Manu and Mr Samuel Tetteh Aminates are contesting the deputy treasurer position.   

Meanwhile, four positions are going unopposed. Mr Michael Gideon Nkuah for deputy secretary, Mr Wilbert Bentum treasurer, Mrs Gifty Nsiah Royal and Mrs Baah Monica for the deputy women’s organiser and Akubilah Inusah for Zongo Caucus Coordinator.
