Ramallah, Aug 17, (dpa/GNA) – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, has reportedly described the Holocaust as “the most heinous crime in modern human history,” in the wake of criticism of statements he made, during a visit to Berlin on Tuesday.
According to a report by Palestinian news agency Wafa, Abbas said that his comparison of Israeli actions against Palestinians to the Holocaust were “not intended to deny the singularity of the Holocaust.”
He had meant to draw attention to the “crimes and massacres committed against the Palestinian people since the Nakba [Israeli independence], at the hands of the Israeli forces.”
