Kwahu East NCCE ramps up SIM card re-registration

Abetifi (E/R), Aug. 1, GNA – Ms. Roberta Essilfuah Koah, the District Director of the Kwahu East office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has entreated community members to get their SIM cards re-registered and also encourage others to do so.

She made the call when the NCCE met with community members at Pepease in the Kwahu East District to carry out public education on the need to embark on the national re-registration exercise.

She said the NCCE was committed to educating the public by explaining the significance of the SIM card re-registration exercise as part of its awareness-creation campaign with a cross-section of the Kwahu East community, including faith-based organisations, social groups, and market women.

The goal of the sensitization campaign was to ensure that the NIA Act, 2006 (Act 707) and LI. 2111 were followed in the Kwahu East district.

Ms Koah said the directive to re-register was the responsibility of every good citizen as stated in Article 41 of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution.

She urged the public to take the re-registration exercise seriously, which deadline has been extended to September 30 this year.
