Insurance no longer mystical topic for Journalists—Lexis Bill

Elmina (C/R), Aug. 21, GNA – Mr Louis Kwame Sakyiamah, a senior broadcast journalist with the Multimedia Group on Saturday said Insurance is no longer a mystical topic for most journalists in Ghana. 

He said unlike the past, where a lot of journalists had the notion that the subject was a complex one which could not be explained, the National Insurance Commission and the Ghana Insurance College have made it easy for journalists to understand Insurance issues.

Mr Sakyiamah, known is showbiz as Lexis Bill was among the participants at the Ghana Insurance College’s annual training programme for top journalists.  

He made the remarks when he delivered a vote of thanks at the end of programme, and urged the participants to make use of the knowledge gained.

Nana Yaa Konadu, a Senior Broadcast Journalist at Peace FM, who testified about the benefits of insurance said having any kind of insurance far outweighs the cost associated with it, and called on her colleague journalists to become agents of change in the society.

Dr Justice Yaw Ofori, Commissioner of Insurance, who answered diverse questions from the journalists said insurance coverage in Ghana was about 44 per cent, as the populace appreciate what insurance was.

He urged the public to contact the National Insurance Commission if they had any problems making insurance claims.
