Kwahu Pepease (E/R), Aug. 9, GNA – Give Hope Global, a US-based non-governmental organisation, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Concord-Afton Sunset in the USA, has donated medical equipment to three health institutions in the Kwahu.
The institutions were the Kwahu Pepease Health Center, the Obo Clinic, and the Atibie Government Hospital.
The items worth US$10,700 included ultrasound machines and printers; oxygen concentrators; pulse oximeters; electronics; sphygmomanometers; nebulizers; stethoscopes, and infrared non-touch thermometers.
Other items include wound care materials, a glucometer, a digital weighing scale, an autoscope, an optoscope and zinc tablets.
At a ceremony to present the items to the facilities, Mr Roger Braswell, the Co-Founder of the NGO, said the gesture formed part of their humanitarian projects of helping deprived communities in the area.
He said the foundation in the past years had supported many health facilities in the Kwahu block and promised their continued support to extend their good gestures to other deprived facilities across the district.
He said the foundation was committed to supporting sporting activities in schools, and promoting quality education and health in the area to help the citizenry.
Mr Braswell also indicated that the organisation offered a day’s training workshop for health workers on how to use donated medical equipment and that it was led by paediatricians and paediatric nutritionists from the USA.
The occasion was also used to launch a mobile library project for the pediatric ward at the Kwahu Atibie Government Hospital and a donation of a library cart with books to the facility.
The library was constructed by the Give Hope team members in Ghana aimed at providing continuous education for hospitalized children and other pediatric patients.
Give Hope Global is an NGO introduced by Ntim’s family in Kwahu Pepease to promote education, health, and social activities in various districts to stimulate development in Kwahu.
The Chief of Kwahu Pepease, Nana Bonsu Ayirepe Ababio II, who received the items on behalf of the facilities, thanked the NGO for the gesture and invited other philanthropists from home and abroad to support the community.
