Bulgarian PM Donev: Caretaker Cabinet Is No B-Team

Sofia, Aug 02, (BTA/GNA) – “The caretaker cabinet is not a B-team in the governance of this country,” caretaker Prime Minister Galab Donev said at the official ceremony on Tuesday where his cabinet took office.

“This is not a marketing whim that I have, but something required under the Constitution. I do not get dizzy from heights and will not resort to legal loopholes,” he said.

Donev said he knew from personal experience that the responsibility to the people and their trust is what keep a person from losing balance, no matter how high in the hierarchy of state governance that person is.

The Prime Minister thanked the President for the trust, in assigning him to run the country at a time which is “laden with crises”.

Noting that his is the 100th government of Bulgaria, Donev said that it will not have the traditional 100 days of tolerance, given that the cabinet will have to solve inherited crises without the mechanisms of a working National Assembly.

Donev said he expects from the government 100% work in organizing the conduct of fair elections, restoring the trust between the institutions, solving all inherited crises, reducing the political tension and continuing the work under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The government then took an oath, after which President Rumen Radev shook hands with each cabinet minister.
