Eid-Ul Adha holidaymakers storm beaches

Accra, July 11, GNA – Hundreds of holidaymakers Monday flocked beaches in Accra in celebration of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha.

As early as 0830 hours, the Ghana News Agency spotted some revellers enjoying the beautiful atmosphere at the Dansoman Beach.

Some local artisans displayed art works at vantage points early in the morning in anticipation of high patronage.

One is met by variety of foods, drinks, musical performances, and acrobatic displays at the entrance of the Beach as the sea waves beckon.

At about 0945 hours, the each was flooded with people, some swimming, others riding horses and playing other outdoor games.

Only a few people were seen in nose masks and washing hands under running water with soap in line with the COVID-19 protocols.

At “Bola Beach” many people engaged in swimming, football, volleyball, horse riding, accrobatics, and dancing among others.

Ebenezer Acquaye, a 16- year-old boy, said “Bola Beach” was his favourite because it was free.

“Despite the rubbers in the sea, some of us still like the Bola Beach because we don’t pay gate fee and it is good for natural entertainment,” he said.

Salim Musah, another young man, who was seen having fun with his friends, said going to the beach was the best way to enjoy a holiday.

“It is our day as Muslims and I am very happy to have come to the beach because this moment comes once in a while”, he said.
