Bulgarian Prime Minister Awards Students with High Achievement at International Olympiads

Sofia, July 25, (BTA/GNA) – At a special ceremony in the building of the Council of Ministers on Monday, outgoing Prime Minister Kiril Petkov presented diplomas to students and their leaders for achieving high results in international Olympiads and competitions in 2022. “The good part of Bulgaria’s reputation is due to your success,” Petkov said.

At a meeting with representatives of a U.S. IT company, Petkov remarked they had been most impressed by the number of gold medals young Bulgarians had won at mathematics Olympiads.

Petkov said that together with the Education and Science Minister they are working to ensure that Bulgaria would have conditions to keep such brilliant minds.

Outgoing Education and Science Minister Nikolay Denkov commended the young people for their achievements at the Olympiads, stating that they are one of Bulgaria’s wonders of whom the country is proud.

Outgoing E-government Minister Bozhidar Bozhanov, himself a former participant in informatics and linguistics Olympiads, said the successes came as a result of persistence and a desire to work.

Students with gold, silver and bronze medals from international Olympiads in physics and biology, as well as their tutors, were also awarded.
