Sofia, July 07 (BTA/GNA) – The National Archaeological Institute with Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (NAIM-BAS) is taking part in The Fall of the Roman Empire international exhibition at the Rheinisches Landesmuseum in Trier, Germany, from June 25 to November 27, 2022, the institution says on its website.
NAIM-BAS is participating with the silver bars from the find in Northwestern Bulgaria dated in 337-361, i.e. the reign of the Roman Emperor Constantius II. The find also includes an inscribed silver vessel. Both are part of the permanent exhibits at the National Archaeological Museum.
The exhibition at the Rheinisches Landesmuseum features over 700 exceptional items from 130 museums in 20 countries in an area of 1,000 sq m. All these reveal the historical events and processes from the 3rd through the 5th century AD, the so-called “dark” ages in the history of the Roman Empire.
