The Church must help raise future leaders—Reverend Frimpong Manso

Accra, June 29, GNA- Reverend Professor Paul Frimpong Manso, General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, has called on the Church to help raise leaders for the country.

Rev Prof Frimpong Manso, who was speaking at the 20th Anniversary celebration of the Assemblies of God, Children’s Ministry- Ghana in Accra, said the future of Ghana would be bleak if churches and pastors failed to raise national leaders.

“Head pastors present, if you don’t play roles in raising our future leaders, the future of the nation will be at risk.”

He asked the Church to receive children, spend on them and prepare them for national leadership position.

Rev Prof Frimpong Manso said that was the only way to grow leaders who were not corrupt.

“In training the children to become our future leaders, we need to take good care of them and give them the word of God.”

Rev Prof Frimpong-Manso quoted from Proverbs 22:6 saying, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will bot depart from it.”

“If we want to build a generational church with future leaders, impart the word of God in the children, and they will also impart into their generations to come,” he told the pastors.

Reverend Dr Mark Akwasi Okyere-kessie, National Director for Children’s Ministry, Assemblies of God, Ghana, said the Children’s Ministry was relevant, as it was the best place to groom children in the Lord with the fear of God, to become the future leaders of Ghana.

He said the celebration would feature vacation bible schools, training programmes, and conferences to groom the children in the Lord towards developing them into leadership positions in future.

He said it was important for parents, pastors, opinion leaders and communities to work together in preparing leaders for the country.

“The churches and pastors need to focus on the upbringing of children to become future leaders. When we train them right from their tender ages, and teach them good moral standards, it will prevent all forms of corrupt acts and make the country a better place,” he stressed.
