Tema MCE inspects ongoing projects

Tema, June 7, GNA – Mr. Yohane Amarh Ashitey, Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, has inspected ongoing drainage works around the Rotary Roundabout near the White House Enclaves and assessed the possibility of creating a bypass at the GTP and Tema Technical Institute stretch.

Mr Frank Asante, TMA Public Relations Officer told the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Tema, on Tuesday that the MCE’s weekly tour was to identify issues on the ground affecting the residents.

He said drains in some major flood-prone areas identified during the tour had been drainage desilted to ensure the free flow of rainwater.

“The Assembly has liaised with some companies to support the filling of potholes, eroded areas and inner lanes in the Metropolis,” Mr Asante said, adding that measures were also underway to construct a bypass at the GTP, and Tema Technical stretch to ease congestion and reduce the rate at which vehicles used GTP inner lanes.

Meanwhile, the Equippers Church, Ghana has commended Mr. Ashitey, for his enormous contribution toward the development of the metropolis.

The church made this commendation in a document copied to the Ghana News Agency in Tema and signed by Pastor Stephen Nortey which commended the Chief Executive making an impact on the city.

The document stated: “You are making a huge impact in this city, both as an individual and through the assembly.”

Pastor Nortey observed that the metropolis had enjoyed a relatively peaceful environment due to the good administration and leadership of the MCE despite the diverse challenges in the past few years.

He urged the MCE to continue the good work and pledged that the church would always support his administration.
