Stakeholders urged to work with government to fight terrorism

Tamale, June 28, GNA – Reverend Father Clement Aapengnuo, Team Leader, COGINTA-GHANA has called on stakeholders in peacebuilding to work with government to prevent violent extremism and terrorism in the country.

He urged stakeholders to assist government to create strategies to stop terrorism in all its forms and encouraging the security agencies to work together in fighting terrorism including assessing risks in the communities and creating awareness on the prevention of violent extremism.

Speaking in an interview with Ghana News Agency in Tamale, Reverend Aapengnuo urged government to provide interventions to support individuals at risk of being influenced by terrorists.

He appealed to relevant state agencies to take steps to enforce the laws against terrorism and called on organisations to support the government to provide resources to the agencies as part of measures to prevent terrorism and extremism in the country.
