Johnson, Trudeau poke fun at Putin during first session of G7 summit

Elmau, Germany, June 26, (dpa/GNA) – British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, poked fun at Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday, during the first working session of a three-day G7 summit in the Bavarian Alps.

Seated around a round table alongside the six other G7 leaders, Johnson was heard asking whether he should keep his suit jacket on before saying: “We all have to show that we’re tougher than Putin.”

Trudeau added that that would require a “bare-chested horseback ride,” a reference to Putin’s stage-managed photo shoots, during one of which he was pictured riding a horse without a shirt.
