Hajia Safia thanks delegates, calls for unity

Tamale, June 03, GNA – Hajia Safia Mohammed, Savannah Regional Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed appreciation to delegates of the NPP for reposing trust and confidence in her by re-electing her to lead the women’s wing of the party in the region.

She said, “First and foremost, thank you for the trust and confidence you have reposed in me. Thank you for believing in me to lead the women’s wing of the party in Savannah Region once again. At this moment, I come to you in great humility, and with deep gratitude to Almighty Allah, who has bestowed this exceptional honour on my modest self.”

This was contained in statement issued and signed by Hajia Safia Mohammed, and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Tamale on Friday.

The NPP held Savannah Regional Executives elections on Friday, May 27, where Hajia Safia Mohammed was re-elected to serve another four-year term.

The statement said, “I appreciate every single one of you that stood by me and continue to do same. I remain indebted to the illustrious delegates for the confidence reposed in me. It was a decision well made and I will surely not disappoint you.”

It said now that the elections were over, there was need for all to work collectively to make the region a haven for the NPP, adding, “We must eschew self-interest, petty squabbles and unite for the interest of the party. With a peaceful and united front, we will be able to consolidate and sustain the gains made and eventually break the eight-year governance cycle in the country.”

It said, “It is my conviction that at this moment of the party in the region, there is the need to intensify broader consultations and consensus building to ensure an efficient, effective and a successful administration of the party in the region.”

It said, “I am forthright and focused with a strategic vision to see an attractive broad based, vibrant and dignified women’s wing of NPP in Savannah Region. With the support of every single member of our party in the region, we can.”
