Accra, June 13, GNA – The 18th edition of the Ghana Party In the Party (GPITP) festival will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Trent Park in London, United Kingdom (UK).
The festival would witness a display of Ghanaian music, dance, a fashion show, a durbar of chiefs, and many others, with thousands expected to be present at the festival.
The festival would be preceded by a Ghana Business Expo scheduled to take place on July 14th, 2022, as Ghanaian businesses explore opportunities with the diaspora community.
Speaking at a press briefing in Accra, Mr. DennisTawiah, the Chief Executive Officer of Akwaaba UK, organizers of GPITP, said the premise of the Ghana Party in the Park was to promote our culture and give it enough exposure.
According to Mr.Tawiah, this year’s event would for the first time hold a Business Expo to allow Ghanaian businesses to showcase the numerous opportunities that come with investing in Ghana.
“This year’s festival entails a lot of activities from enjoying the best of Ghanaian music, food, dance, arts, among many others, and the introduction of the business expo will also give Ghanaian businesses the chance to engage the diaspora on the numerous benefits of investing in the Ghanaian economy.
“The artiste line-up would be announced in the coming days and I urge all music lovers to get their dancing shoes ready and get their tickets for the upcoming festival.” Mr Tawiah said at the press briefing.
Mr. Ben Anane-Nsiah, Product Development and Investment Manager at the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), was elated to be part of this year’s event as they sought to promote tourism among the diasporans and reconnect with their origins.
“Events like GPITP are excellent meeting points to engage the diaspora and tell them more about Ghana and what they are missing out on. It is a platform that offers us the opportunity to tell the diaspora why Ghana should be their first tourist destination as they get to experience our culture.
“So it is all about Project Ghana’s brand, especially as part of the Destination Ghana campaign launched by the President of the Republic Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo a few months ago,” he said.
This year’s GPITP event is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, GTA, Ghana Post, World Remit, Qatar Airways, KGL, EximBank Ghana, Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Taptap Send, and GREADA, among others.
The likes of Sarkodie, King Promise, Fuse ODG, Stormzy, Sway, Kidi, Kuami Eugene, and many more international acts, have all performed at the festival which attracts thousands across the globe.
