Construction of emergency and trauma centre for Yendi Hospital ongoing

Yendi (N/R), June 28, GNA – The Mission 318 of USA in partnership with Global Mission Resource Centre, Yendi is constructing a 30-bed capacity emergency and trauma centre for the Yendi Municipal Hospital in the Northern Region.

The project, valued at $400,000, is expected to be completed by July 2022 to enhance care for patients.

Reverend Emmanuel Kwabena Mustapha, Founder and Executive Director of Global Resource Centre, Yendi announced this when he briefed the media about the project at Yendi.

The Yendi Municipal Hospital does not have an emergency and trauma Centre, a situation which is affecting health care delivery for patients, hence the ongoing construction of the centre.

Since 2008, Mission 318 of USA has been partnering with the Global Mission Resource Centre in Yendi for medical doctors and nurses to come from USA to perform surgeries for patients with hernia, goiter, fibroid among others at the Yendi Municipal Hospital.

Reverend Mustapha said the Member of Parliament for Yendi including other citizens also contributed either in cash or in kind to support the construction of the facility.

He said when completed, the facility would help in health care delivery for people along the Eastern Corridor.
