Accra, June 06, GNA – An Accra Circuit Court has granted a car dealer bail in the sum of GHS 100,000.00 with two sureties to be justified for defrauding by false pretense.
Paul Amoako Oduro, aged 30, pleaded not guilty on two counts of defrauding by false pretense.
The Court ordered the prosecution to file disclosures and other documents within two weeks.
The case has been adjourned to July 13, 2022.
Prosecuting Police Chief Inspector Williams Boateng told the Court presided over by Mrs Afia Owusuaa Appiah that Mr Ben Kanor Ocansey and Mr Williams Enuson were the complainants, all of Forestry Commission, Accra.
The Prosecution said the accused person was a car dealer.
Chief Inspector Boateng said during the month of March 2021, Oduro indicated to Mr Ocansey and Mr Enuson that, he could import Mitsubishi 2012 Pajero and Honda Pilot vehicles respectively, or any other vehicles of their choice to them.
The Prosecution said Mr Ocansey and Mr Enuson showed interest.
Chief Inspector Boateng said in the month of April 2021, Oduro approached Mr Ocansey and Mr Enuson and collected GHS85,000.00 and GHS87,000.00 and promised to ship the above-mentioned vehicles into the country for them.
He said Oduro after collecting the money sent photographs of the vehicles to Mr Ocansey and Mr Enuson but failed to honour his promise.
Mr Boateng said after fruitless efforts to get the vehicles, Mr Ocansey and Mr Enuson made a report to the Police and Oduro was arrested to assist in investigation.
Chief Inspector Boateng said Oduro had refunded GHS 45,000.00 to Mr Ocansey and GHS30,000.00 to Mr Enuson, respectively.
