Takoradi, June 13, GNA – Hajia Sawudatu Saeed, aspiring National Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has assured women organisers of the party across the country of her commitment to promoting their welfare if voted into office.
She said she would establish the Women’s Wing Welfare Fund to offer monthly allowances to women organisers, offer scholarships for their children, introduce an awards scheme for hard-working, committed and result-oriented organisers, and cater for children of deceased women organisers.
Hajia Saeed, currently the Deputy National Women’s Organiser of the NPP, who has served for two terms, said she would make the welfare of women an integral part of her administration to improve the electoral fortunes of the party.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency after picking her nomination forms on June 9 to contest the National Women’s Organiser position, the experienced female politician, also a Deputy Director-General of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), made known her curative plans for the party.
In line with protocol, she was warmly welcomed by Mrs Sarah Kobbina, a member of the National Elections Committee of the NPP.
Hajia Saeed said she would strive to improve upon the welfare of every member of the women’s wing, which would ensure massive support for the grassroots, for the empowerment of young women through fair distribution of jobs.
She said she would offer vibrant, dynamic, all-inclusive leadership to engage the Regional, Constituency, and Polling Station women’s organisers, recognise their efforts and reward them accordingly, as well as put in measures for resource mobilisation and fair distribution of same.
“I will always strive to be honest, reliable and trustworthy and a companion to everyone. I will always be a unifier and avoid deliberate decisions or actions which may either, directly or indirectly, cause harm to others’ lives, images, emotions or relationships”, she stated.
“My dear patriotic women, I humbly seek your mandate to work harder together with you for the betterment of the women’s wing and to break the historic eight as women’s organisers” Hajia Saeed appealed.
