Ada, June 28, GNA-The Ada-East District Assembly in the Greater Accra Region has handed over 200 dual desks to the Education Directorate for distribution to schools in the District.
Ms Sarah Dugbakie Pobee, District Chief Executive in presenting the dual desk said it formed part of holistic measures the assembly adopted to eliminate furniture deficit in schools in the jurisdiction.
Ms Pobee advised School Management Committees to handle furniture with care and maintain them to help reduce the financial pressure on the Assembly.
The Ada-East District Chief Executive noted that making education a reality in the district and across the country required a collective effort from all stakeholders.
She said: “It requires more financial resources, measures to ensure that these resources are used efficiently to deliver the best returns, and reforms that support students to learn and gain the skills they need to become productive and successful adults”.
Ms Pobee said children achieve more when schools and parents work together; parents can help more effectively if they know what the school is trying to achieve and how they can help.
“A successful collaborative support system hinges on parents’ involvement in the day-to-day needs of the children at school, we are stakeholders for the all-inclusive academic development of the children,” she noted.
The Ada-East DCE said education is at the heart of the assembly’s mission to build peace, eradicate poverty, and drive sustainable development within the district.
“We are working together to cover all aspects of education, provide leadership in education, strengthen educational systems, and bring together the government through the local government structures, the private sector, and civil society to deliver quality education for all,” she said.
Ms Pobee said the assembly would continue to create the necessary environment to support schools within the district and called on traditional leaders, residents, citizens of Ada, and corporate bodies to support the assembly’s effort to transform education within the district.
Mr Moses Tetteh Pornortey Ada-East District Director of Education commended the DCE and the assembly for the kind gesture and pledged that the district education directorate would strict maintenance culture be applied.
