Beijing, May 12, (dpa/GNA) - A Tibet Airlines aircraft caught fire at the airport in the southwest Chinese city of Chongqing, local media reported.
The country’s official news agency Xinhua cited sources as saying that the aircraft veered off the runway during take-off and caught fire at around 8 am (0000 GMT) on Thursday.
According to initial unconfirmed reports, 113 passengers were on board the Airbus A319. There were initially no reports of deaths but Xinhua reported that there were injuries.
When asked by dpa, Tibet Airlines in Chongqing only said that the incident was being investigated.
