France to lift mask requirement for people using public transport

Paris, May 11, (dpa/GNA) – France is preparing to lift the requirement that people using public transport wear masks, as the number of cases of Covid-19 continues to fall.

French Health Minister Olivier Véran said on Wednesday that the change will enter force at the beginning of next week. It is still recommended that people wear masks, however, he said. While the overall situation has improved, the pandemic is not over yet.

France recently reported 405 cases per 100,000 people within a week.
