Accra, May 25, GNA – The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the WAFU U-17 Cup of Nations have officially launched the tournament to be held in Cape Coast from Saturday, June 11 to Friday, June 24, 2022.
The Black Starlets would be in action together with their West African counterparts, including Cote D’Ivoire, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Togo, Nigeria, and Benin.
All teams would be vying for a spot at next year’s Total Energies U-17 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in Algeria.
Participating national teams are expected to arrive in Ghana from June 7-8, 2022, with an official opening ceremony billed for Saturday, June 11, 2022.
The Cape Coast Stadium and Ndoum Sports Stadium would be the venues for the matches.
The Black Starlets, who have won the U17 AFCON twice (1995 and 1999), would be hoping to return to the competition after missing out on the last edition held in Morocco.
