Madrid, April 5, (dpa/GNA) – “At least 25” people working at the Russian embassy in Madrid, are being ordered out of the country by the Spanish government, as Spain becomes the latest country to react to allegations of Russian human rights atrocities in Bucha, Ukraine.
Spanish Foreign Minister, José Manuel Albares, said the affected people include diplomats and other personnel. He said this was a direct response to the “horrible incidents in Ukraine,” but also noted that the people being told to leave represented “a threat to the security interests” of Spain.
The announcement comes hours ahead of a 5 pm (1500 GMT) video link addressed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the Spanish legislature.
