Leklebi-Duga, (VR), April 25, GNA- Former President President John Agyekum Kufuor in collaboration with Growing Trees and Grow a Tree Network Ghana, have undertaken a two- day tree planting exercise.
The 1,600 trees planted are Fruit, Medicinal and Forest trees in Leklebi-Duga in the South Afadjato District of the Volta Region.
The planted seedlings included Prekese, Mahogany, Cedrela, Pawpaw, Soursop, Guava, Oil- palm, Moringa and Coconut.
Some of the tree seedlings were planted at Leklebi-Duga Health Centre including the satellite towns like; Duga, Fiafe, Dafour, and Agbesia.
Former President John Agyekum Kufuor is the Life Patron of Growing Trees and Grow a Tree Network, Ghana.
Before the commencement of the exercise, ten farmers were selected from the various towns and given out educational flyers on the importance of trees.
