Ghana Month: AITI-KACE celebrates Heritage Month in Grand Style

Accra, April 04, GNA – Management and staff of the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE) on Thursday, March 30, ended Ghana/Heritage Month with several activities to represent the 16 regions in Ghana.

A statement issued by the AITI-KACE, copied to the Ghana News Agency said as part of activities to mark the Ghana/Heritage month, all staff came to work dressed in various Ghanaian outfits to represent the regions/tribes they came from.

Speaking about the Ghana/Heritage Month, Dr Collins Yeboah-Afari, the Director-General for AITI-KACE, stated that several activities were strategically lined up by the Centre to rekindle our sense of identity and patriotism among staff of AITI-KACE.

“As we mark this year’s Ghana Month, we want to whip up the unity demonstrated by staff -irrespective of their unique ethnic backgrounds and roles they play at the Centre,” Dr Yeboah-Afari stated.

“We at AITI-KACE are one people with a common purpose and we will continue to champion that every time.”

With regards to activities, the statement said each day from March 28 to March 31, the entire staff of AITI-KACE engaged in an intense Ghana wear campaign which was heavily patronized by all to display the rich culture of the various regions and tribes in Ghana.

It said to climax the Ghana/Heritage Month, on March 31, staff treated themselves to a buffet of local dishes brought by individuals to represent the various regions they come from.

The month of March is set aside every year as the Ghana/Heritage Month, to celebrate Ghana’s culture and promote tourism by celebrating and telling the story of the people of Ghana in various ways including showcasing Ghanaian dishes and culture and dresses.

AITI-KACE is Ghana’s first Advanced Information Technology Institute with a world-class research facility focusing on innovating products and services for individual and institutional advancement.
