Accra, April 06, GNA- Mrs Antoinette Kwofie, Chief Finance Officer for MTN Ghana, has urged women who aspire to occupy leadership positions to make themselves visible to cause positive impact in society.
She said women would bridge the gender gap and promote gender equality when they took up leadership positions and made themselves visible.
She made the remarks at the 2022 “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality” programme organised by the Ghana Stock Exchange in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
n a press statement signed by Nana Kofi Asare, Chief Corporate Services Officer, MTN, Mrs Kwofie said women in the world of finance were rarely seen and as such did not get to occupy the needed positions.
She said she did not know that the expectations of women were different from that of men until she entered the corporate world because they were five girls at home, and everything was done by them.
Mrs Kwofie said it was important for every woman to be able to see beyond herself for the visibility to have the correct impact.
She pledged to create a safe space for women in the workplace to discuss issues that affected them, mentor, and coach them, implemented intentional policies and measures that could be tracked, stressing, “what is not measured, is not performed.”
