More than 2.5 million want to leave Ukraine for Russia, Moscow says

Moscow, March 8, (dpa/GNA) – More than 2.5 million people want to leave Ukraine due to the war, there and be brought to Russia, according to Moscow.

Russian Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev of the Defence Ministry said people from more than 1,900 places contacted his country through several communication channels. The numbers could not be independently verified.

According to Mizintsev, 723 foreigners were brought to Russia from the eastern Ukrainian city of Sumy. Among them were 576 Indian citizens, 115 Chinese people, 20 Jordanians and 12 Tunisians.
