Accra, March 1, GNA – LG Electronics FZE is partnering with Korea Friends For Hope International to launch an innovation challenge, “Ghana LG Ambassador Challenge”, to offer financial support to projects that are geared towards livelihoods improvement in local communities
The competition which is open to communities in the northern part of the country only would see winning innovations and ideas in the areas of Education, Water and Sanitation, and Animal Farming receive seed capital up to GHC60,000.00 each.
The organisers, LG Electronics and Korea Friends For Hope International, hope to provide assistance in ICT, furniture, maintenance of existing and new infrastructure to the tune of GHC60,000.00 to the beneficiary communities.
“This, we believe will help improve the educational challenges facing the people the communities,” a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said.
The organisers would invest similar amounts in projects in the areas of Water and Sanitation, and Animal Farming.
The evaluation criteria for entries in the challenge are: Necessity, Effectiveness, Efficiency, Specificity, Feasibility and Sustainability.
The competition opened on January 10, and would close March 6, 2022, for winners to be announced March 21. These events are to be followed by Ambassador appointment ceremony March 24.

In the maiden edition of the innovation challenge held in 2021, three winning projects, Karimenga Community for Ecological Farming, Boko Community for Bakery and Dagmweo Community for Weaving. were awarded a cash prize of GHC50,000.00 each.
“There are many problems that need to be solved in our community. You’re the one who knows best how to solve the problem in your community. “We believe your idea can solve the problem in the most effective and efficient way”, the statement said.
