Ajumako DCE presents motorbikes to 68 Assembly Members

Ajumako, March 10, GNA – Assembly members in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam district have been presented with motorbikes to help them to effectively perform their duties to bring development to the people.

The motorbikes procured by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, were handed to the 68 beneficiaries by the District Chief Executive (DCE), the Reverend Ransford Kwesi Nyarko.

At a brief handing over ceremony, the DCE reminded them to put the motorbikes to good use for the ultimate benefit of their respective electoral areas.

“Most of you are already doing fantastic job, with the very limited resources at your disposal and I know that with this support from government, you are going to do better.

“I will urge that we all endeavour to make a case for more government’s support by making the most of this,” he said.

He spoke of need to give the assembly members strong support to make them more effective and he said it was for this reason that the government had over the past five years, not relented in its efforts to offer them assistance.

One of the recipients, Mr Raphael Appiah, Assembly Member for Abupease electoral area, said the motorbike was a welcomed relief.

“For me, my communities are scattered with many hard-to-reach areas and this makes my movement very challenging, so the motorbike could not have come at a better time. I am elated.”
