Accra-Kumasi Accident: Road re-opened to motorists

Accra, Feb. 28, GNA – The Kibi Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) has reopened the Akim Aboabo road, which was temporarily closed to motorists after a road crash on the Accra-Kumasi Highway.

The accident was a head-on collision between a DAF Articulated Truck and a Nissan Pickup Truck.

A news brief from the Police advised drivers to be cautious and adhere to road safety regulations, always drive on the right and avoid overtaking in curves, on crests and when vehicles were approaching from the opposite direction, to avoid head-on collision on the Highways.

It expressed appreciation to the Ghana National Fire Service Extrication Team, National Ambulance Service Emergency Medical Technicians, and Road Safety Management Service Limited towing crew, for their timely and professional response in extricating, conveying, and recovering the vehicles off the road for further investigation.
