Access Bank appoints first female Executive Director

Accra, Feb. 25, GNA – Access Bank has appointed Pearl Nkrumah as the first female Executive Director to head the Bank’s Retail and Digital Operations.

Mr Olumide Olatunji, the Managing Director, said “Madam Nkrumah’s appointment is good for our Bank. Her rich experience will spur our Bank on to achieving retail dominance, a key area of focus to realising our vision of becoming the world’s most respected African Bank.”

Madam Nkrumah joined Access Bank from Stanbic Bank Ghana, where she was the Head of Main Market and Ecosystems and responsible for several key initiatives aimed at increasing youth financial inclusion.

Under her leadership, the Stanbic Bank recorded outstanding growth and contributed to building the blueprint and structure for inclusive and Mass Market business.

Madam Nkrumah is also known for initiatives that strengthen brand and corporate social responsibility with keen interest in the fields of gender equity, empowerment, education, and promotion of entrepreneurship.

A statement from Access Bank believed the appointment was an assertion of its commitment to gender equity and interest in women initiatives.

The new Executive Director holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Business Administration (Marketing) and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Ghana.

She also holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration.
