Spontaneous jubilations characterize New Year in Techiman Municipality

Techiman, (BE/R), Jan. 1, GNA— Christians across the Techiman municipality ushered in the New Year with spontaneous jubilations amid the firing of ‘knockouts’.

Many churches, including St Paul Cathedral of the Techiman Roman Catholic Diocese, Church of Pentecost, Builders Church, Presbyterian Church and Seventh Day Adventist church, marked the night with praises and thanksgiving.

At the St Paul Cathedral, the Most Reverend Father Dominic Yeboah Nyarko, a Catholic Priest, urged Ghanaians to cherish and preserve the prevailing peace by living peacefully with one another.

He said peace and love remained great pillars of Christianity and asked the congregants to forgive one another and live in unity.

In an interview, some of the worshippers expressed the hope that 2022 would be a year of prosperity and joy.

Madam Rosemary Asamoah, a Presbyterian, promised to ensure an absolute and peaceful environment in her household throughout the New Year.

“Living peaceably with one another would push the nation forward and I am determined to do so in 2022,” Mrs Ama Korsah, a Pentecostal, said.
