Our struggles reveal God’s glory—Rev Minister

Accra, Jan.1, GNA— Reverend Sowah Ablorh, Minister in charge of Victory Congregation of the Presbyterian Church, Ghana, has encouraged Christians not to be dismayed in the face of challenges because such struggles often reveal God’s glory.

“Most often our faith is sandwiched in doubt when God’s word about our lives isn’t materialising. We, therefore, start speaking negatively. What I want you to know is that sometimes, what we go through is for God’s glory to be seen,” he said.

Rev Ablorh, who is also the District Minister for Frafraha, gave the advise on Friday whilst delivering the sermon at the 31st December Watch Night Service in Accra.

It was on the theme: “Go Forward”.

He quoted from Exodus 14:13-15, saying, “And Moses said to the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.’”

“The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace. And the Lord said to Moses, Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.”

‭‭Rev Ablorh explained that the Israelites in the scripture were being pursued by their slave masters, the Egyptians and at the same time faced with the Red Sea hindering them from escaping.

He said that complicated situation made the Israelites questioned God’s existence and sovereignty.

Rev Ablorh said, however, when they later relied on God and moved forward as instructed, He paved a way through the Red Sea for their escape and subdued their enemies.

He, therefore, encouraged the congregation to have faith and remain hopeful that 2022 had greater things in stock for them.

“Fear is not good. Leave the fears of 2021 here. Don’t carry it to 2022. The fears of yesterday will paralyse you, keep you at one place and with time, your future would be aborted,” he cautioned.

The service ended with a time of intercession for the Christian community, the family and Ghana, asking for God’s blessings and peace ahead of the New Year.
