MoYS to meet GFA on Friday to decide on Black Stars’ future

Accra, Jan 19, GNA – The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS), will on Friday, January 21, hold an emergency meeting with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), to decide on the future of the national senior football team, the Black Stars.

A statement from the Ministry signed by Mr. Mustapha Ussif Minister of Youth and Sports, the said meeting would among other things, discuss the poor performance of the Black Stars at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The statement said, “the Ministry has summoned the Ghana Football Association (GFA) leadership to an emergency meeting scheduled for Friday, January 21, to urgently discuss and take decisions aimed at salvaging the performance of the Black Stars especially in the next set of games”.

The minister further assured the general public that the Ministry is committed to take up steps in order to improve the senior national team’s performance.

“The Ministry of Youth and Sports is committed to taking urgent steps to ensure that the Black Stars is restored to its status as a symbol of national pride for all Ghanaians and a powerhouse of African football”.
