Kpone Leonardo Residents Association commends Kpone-Katamanso MCE

Kpone, Jan. 11, GNA-The Kpone Leonardo Residents Association has commended, Mr. Samuel Okoe Amanquah, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for his swift response to their request for the provision of streetlights to illuminate the community to combat criminal activities.

Madam Teresa Nadia Abugah, the Acting Chairperson of the Association said during a courtesy call on the new MCE, it pledged its support to work with him to make the area comfortable for the residents.

She said the Association also briefed the new MCE of four critical issues confronting the area-poor roads, insecurity, water problem, and lack of well-functioning lorry stations.

Ms Abugah, indicated that the insecurity was partially attributed to the lack of streetlights in the communities had resulted in a lot of theft cases being recorded saying right after the discussion, the MCE donated 10 streetlight bulbs to the association.

She said that was what he could immediately do to improve security in the community adding that, the gesture of the MCE was highly commendable.

Mr. Francis Carlos Tetteh, Organizer of the Association said theft in the area occurred both during the daytime, when people had gone to work and at night because there were no streets lights.

He said as a result of that, most of the shops in the area closed early in order not to be attacked by thieves adding that, since the streetlights were fixed, there had been an extension of time for the traders in the evening.

Mr. Benjamin Nortey Thompson, Secretary of the Association thanked the MCE for his support and asked for God’s blessing upon him to be able to work to transform the Municipality.
