Ketu North welcomes Regional Minister

Dzodze (VR), Jan. 21, GNA- It was joy and expression of optimism when Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, the Volta Regional Minister paid a working visit to the Ketu North Municipality.

Mr Anthony Avorgbedor, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu North in the Volta Region in his welcome address during a short meeting with Dr Letsa explained, his area was steadily executing the government’s projects and programmes.

However, he said they would continue to fight for more developmental projects in the area “so we will continue to work hard to make the area one of the best Municipalities in the region.”

Dr Letsa in his address during a meeting commended the security agencies in the area for their hard work and determination.

“We are aware of the activities of these ‘Western Togoland’ freedom fighters and I must say thank you for your good efforts in keeping the area calm and peaceful.”

Dr Letsa indicated, the main objectives of his visit was to interact with staff of the various assemblies on issues that would propel their activities towards good performance in the year and beyond, cut sod for the commencement of some projects, commission completed projects, inspect some ongoing project sites, and interact with development partners in the Agricultural and other sectors.

On roads, Dr Letsa mentioned Penyi- Ehi, Dzodze -Ehi, Dakpa – Akatsi, and others as some roads to be given the needed attention from the government.

The team also toured the Dzodze Central Market where a nine-storey building was constructed by the assembly for use by traders. A six store building at Penyi was also visited.

The team also toured Maphlix Farms at Tadzewu, a leading producer and exporter of fresh vegetables, roots, and tubers in Ghana.

A completed 4-unit staff bungalow for Assembly staff was also inspected.

Mr Avorgbedor further assured the Minister of their relentless efforts as a Municipality in raising the standard of living for the people of Ketu North.

The first phase of the Minister’s tour will end today, Friday 21 after he visits Ketu South, Keta, and Anloga District.

The second phase would commence on Monday, January 24.
