Hohoe Churches hold watch night services

Hohoe (V/R), Jan. 1, GNA— Churches in Hohoe have held night services to usher in the year, 2022.

Most churches visited were filled, with canopies raised outside the auditorium, while some services were held in the open.

Reverend Benjamin Acquaye, Head of Hope Temple of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) – Hohoe, said, “if there is one thing I have been praying for and we all wish we overcome and not be looking like ninjas is for Covid-19 to end.”

He said the expectations that scientists would find an end to the pandemic could not materialise hence mankind turning to the Lord for His protection.

Rev Acquaye said 2022 would be the year of unexplainable blessings of increase.

He urged Christians not to despise little beginnings but work hard and be committed to God.

Reverend Fr Isaac Benuyenah, Parish Priest of St Augustine Catholic Church, said, “Human beings will suppress, discourage, deceive and disappoint you but God will change all into good because the timing is in God’s Hands.”

“This night shall be a night of wealth, blessings, healing, fortunes and opportunities.

Apostle Dr Ernest N. Adulai, Head Pastor of the Revival Assemblies of God Church, gave the assurance of double blessings in 2022.

Reverend Fr Samuel Kumah, Parish Priest, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, in a sermon, called on Christians to make God their friend as they entered 2022.

He said there was no need for them to be afraid of the many problems they were encountering as they entered the year.

GNA observed compliance with the covid-19 protocols of nose mask wearing, handwashing but the absence of social distancing at the churches.

At the stroke of midnight, fireworks, knockouts, church bells, praises and worship ushered in the year, 2022.
