Accra, Jan. 29, GNA – Professor Gordon Awandare, Pro Vice Chancellor, University of Ghana, has advised participants of the Pan-African Doctoral Academy (PADA) doctoral school to adopt effective time management practice to be successful in their research.
He said pursuing a doctoral programme required full commitment to the extent that an individual had to relieve himself of some activities to have time for the research.
Professor Awandare said this when he was addressing participants of this year’s PADA January 2022 Doctoral School.
The PADA doctoral school is a two-week Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) research training for researchers in academic writing, career and professional development, amid modules in presentation skills among others.
The training is to help participants develop researches to bridge the gap between academia and industry, as well as provide inclusive societal development.
The Pro Vice Chancellor advised the participants to be focused and be resilient in their pursuit of academic excellence.
Dr Collins Badu Agyemang, Coordinator of Doctoral Schools, PADA, said the Academy was poised to support the training of African researchers in developing researches that addressed challenges confronting the continent.
He said they were optimistic that through the Doctoral School, researches would be enhanced to meet developmental needs.
Dr Agyemang said PADA provided facilities to support graduates and PhD research training.
The Academy, established since 2015, has so far trained more than 2000 researchers in Africa.
At the event, Professor Ivan Addae Mensah and Professor Gordon Awandare, were honoured with plaques and citations for their support to the Academy.
