Sefwi-Asawinso(WN) Jan.1, GNA— Christians in the Western North Region attended church service to usher in the new year.
Many of the churches the GNA visited duly observed the COVID-19 safety protocols, some held their service in open air space while others created more seats outside the church halls to ensure physical distancing.
Many of the congregants were clad in white to signify their joy. They also sang, danced and praised God.
At the Sefwi-Asawinso Presbyterian Church, Reverend Vincent Kpakpa, District Pastor of the church, in a sermon, called on Ghanaians, especially Christians, to have hope only in Christ Jesus in the new year.
The Reverend Minister said God had better plans for everyone but emphasized that it would only materialize if they waited upon the Lord.
He further asked Christians to deepen their faith in God since that was the only way to receive God’s favour and blessings in the new year.
The District Pastor entreated Christians to focus on God to have a perfect life.
Reverend Kpakpa also led the congregation to pray for an accident-free year and called on all to remain disciplined in all aspects of their lives.
Mr Obeng Sarfo, Senior Presbyter of the Church, on behalf of the Church, commended members for their continuous support towards church activities and asked members to seek Christ at all times.
