St. Paul’s and Akatsi Municipal Hospital record three births on Christmas Day

Akatsi (VR), Dec. 26, GNA—The Akatsi Municipal Hospital and the St Paul’s Hospital Limited, a private health facility, recorded three births on Christmas day.

The newborn babies were made up of two females and a male.

Out of the number, two came through normal delivery while the other was through a caesarian section.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Madam Amengor Veronica, a Midwifery Officer in Charge at St Paul’s Hospital, said one female baby was safely delivered at exactly 1201 hours Saturday dawn.

She said the baby and her mother were healthy and doing well.

Ameyibor Gloria, a 29-year-old mother of the baby, expressed her appreciation to God for the good offer. She promised to give her baby the needed care and love.

Meanwhile, Mr Pascal Ayivor, the Health Information Officer at the Akatsi Municipal Hospital, on his part, said the facility registered two deliveries, a male and a female.

He also indicated that the male baby had safely gone through CS before delivery at 0710 hours and the other female baby through normal delivery at 0840 hours on Saturday, December 25.

Dr Karikari Bonsu, the Medical Superintendent of the Akatsi Municipal Hospital, told the GNA all the babies and mothers were doing well.

A visit by the GNA to some other health facilities within Akatsi South including, Hoggar Clinic, saw no delivery on Christmas day.
