Kumasi, Dec. 18, GNA – Trading activities on the sidelines of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Annual Delegates’ Conference is gradually picking up with huge numbers of participants trooping to the Heroes Park, venue for the conference.
With variety of wares displayed outside the Park, the traders were hopeful of good sales, considering the number of people expected at the three-day event.
Items including footwear, clothes, beverages, and party paraphernalia are on display.
Food vendors are also doing brisk business, serving the people with different food varieties.
Most of the traders, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency, expressed satisfaction with sales, so far, and were hopeful it would get better as the conference progressed.
“Market has not been bad at all, because I have been able to make some sales since yesterday,” says Mr John Afum, selling party paraphernalia.
He came all the way from Accra to do business and that had been worth the stress, he said.
“I am a Polling Station Organiser of the party in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency and I have been following the party everywhere to sell these items.”
“Since the main event is scheduled for tomorrow, the prospects of making good sales before the end of the conference is very high.”
Madam Akosua Nkansah, a food vendor, was full of joy at the patronage of her food when the GNA approached her.
“My brother, it has been a good day for us, because people are buying our food and I have even started cooking more,” she said.
