MCE supports Sirigu orphanage on Christmas day

Sirigu (UER), Dec. 25, GNA— Mr Joseph Adongo, the Kassena Nankana East Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has supported the inmates of the Sirigu Orphanage, near Navrongo, with food items to enable them to enjoy Christmas.

Mr Adongo presented the items to the inmates of the Mother of Mercy Babies Home after attending Christmas Service at the Catholic Church in Sirigu.

The donation comprised baby foods, soap, pampers and prepared food for all the inmates.

Mr Adongo said Christmas was, among other things, to make merry and share with the less privileged in society hence the need to support the orphans.

“I love the less privileged and I love children. These children would have been with their biological parents but fate had decided otherwise for them and we need to help put smiles on their faces on occasions such as these,” he said.

He pledged to pay routine visits to the orphanage to be abreast with the welfare of the inmates.

He appealed to philanthropists and organisations to help the inmates.

Sister Hyacintha Zageiye, the Caretaker of the Mother of Mercy Babies Home, who received the items, thanked the MCE for the donation, saying, “God will surely bless you for thinking about us.

“We appreciate what you have done for us and use this opportunity to appeal to the public to come to our aid in any form of support to improve the living conditions of the inmates,” she said
