Kpando (V/R), Dec. 13, GNA – The Roman Catholic Diocese of Ho, has honoured 91 individuals, groups and institutions for their immense contributions to Episcopal activities of the Diocese.
They were presented with citations for their financial and selfless services rendered to the Diocese between 2015 and 2020.
Most Reverend Emmanuel Kofi Fianu, SVD, Bishop of the Diocese, in a speech at Kpando, said the gesture was to honour them for their support.
He said the Diocese was also grateful to all whose support had brought the Diocese far within the period.
Bishop Fianu urged the faithful to continue to render their support for the Diocese to enable it to meet the purpose as assigned by the Catholic Church to God’s glory.
The event also marked the Ho Diocesan End-of-year Grotto pilgrimage, which climaxes the end of the Year of St. Joseph which Pope Francis launched in 2020.
Mr John-Peter Amewu, Minister of Railway Development and Hohoe Constituency Member of Parliament, Mamaga Ametor Hoebuadzu II, Alavanyo Paramount Queen, Bishop Herman College Old Students, Keta-Akatsi citizens in Ho, Hotel Stevens, Quality Assurance Company Limited, NIB Ho Branch are among the individuals, groups and institutions recognised.
The late Mr Bob Coffie, Founder of Freedom Hotel, Ho, and Mrs Emelda Wutsi-Nugba were posthumously recognised.
Some Reverend Fathers and Sisters’ efforts were also recognised by the Diocese.
Bishop Fianu in a homily said God through his love for humankind was willing to save them from the destruction of sin, made salvation possible.
He urged the faithful to resolve to commit themselves anew to God in the footsteps of the Blessed Virgin Mary, conceived without sin.
Bishop Fianu urged the faithful to do their best to remain faithful to God and keep their trust and faith in him, resist and reject the temptation of sins and live their lives to the best of the will of God.
