He was speaking at a virtual matriculation ceremony to admit a total of 1,452 undergraduate and postgraduate students to pursue various courses under the sandwich programme of the university for the 2021/2022 academic year.

They were made up of 1,151 undergraduates and 301 postgraduate students for both the Kumasi and Asante Mampong campuses of the university.

He explained that the University was working together with industry and the community to provide holistic training for teachers in Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and entrepreneurial development as well as other professionals for them to teach in all the TVET institutions to contribute to the employability of the youth.

Prof. Sarfo explained that the Governing Council and Management of the University, recognizing the critical nature of the mandate, had adopted a systematic and practical approach in the efforts towards building a solid foundation to achieve the university’s mandate and also evolve as a bastion for the country’s development.

He said due to the COVID-19 pandemic, AAMUSTED management had decided to adopt and implement the blended learning approach involving face-to-face teaching and virtual delivery, using the AAMUSTED MOODLE Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Prof. Sarfo advised the students not to waste their precious time and energy on matters that add nothing to the quality of training the university was offering them, rather, they should take advantage of the various opportunities in the school to add value to themselves.

Prof. Sarfo said the University had opened admission applications until December 31, 2021, to help Senior High Students candidates who had written their WASSCE to take advantage and apply.
